The DelPo-Ferru match was canceled and reassigned to Centre Court for Tuesday at 12pm. Baker and Kohlschreiber also did not start.
Given the scheduling issues and the rain delays, only three of the eight R16 matches were completed on Monday. Three matches were suspended during play, while two have not started. Wimby made an irrational decision to stop play on Centre approximately 3 hours before the 11pm curfew. This makes no sense, given the backlog they are currently facing.
Murray-Cilic was suspended due to rain (Muzz is up a set and a break), as was Gasquet-Mayer (Gasquet is down a set to Mayer) and Tsonga-Fish (Tsonga’s down a set to Fish). The winner of Gasquet-Mayer is at the greatest disadvantage, as he will face Djokovic in the QF without a day’s rest.
In any case, the Muzz-Cilic and DelPo-Ferru matches will start at the same time today (This is Wimby’s effort to ensure the winners of both matches receive a suitable amount of rest before the QF, though it still favors Muzz. For all the complaints from Greg Rudeski, among others, that Muzz is not being treated well at his home tourny, Muzz is not at the receiving end of any truly bad decisions).
