Final Four & the ITF Does a Stellar Job for the Olympics

Big Clash Ahead at the Wimbledon SFs

So the SFs are set, with Federer-Djokovic and Tsonga-Murray contesting for spots in the final.  The Muzz-Ferru QF was one of the best matches this year, as Ferru put in a very strong performance despite a losing effort.

That match gave me a chance to watch Muzz (I normally find Muzz too exhausting to watch), and I have a strange feeling about him this year.  I feel like Muzz might win his coveted maiden Grand Slam this time.  Does this mean I’ve become a Muzz fan?  (Since step 1 of being a Muzz fan is getting your hopes up that he will win a Slam).  Maybe I just need to catch up on sleep.

Either way, Muzz has now equalled Tim Henman’s SF appearances at Slams.  There’s clearly a lot of pressure on his shoulders, judging from the grilling he received in his post-match presser.  As for Tsonga, he’s reached his 2nd straight SF at Wimby, all without a coach by his side.  I would never have predicted that.  Whether Tsonga, the “smiling assassin,” will be able to unleash his happy fusillade of shots against home favorite Muzz … that is the question.

As for Fed-Novak, I am afraid to offer any opinion whatsoever, given the way Fed lost his momentum against Novak at the RG SF.  So instead, here is an adorable clip of Fed’s twin daughters cheering him on during his QF win over Youzhny (via

It’s true what they say — daughters who look like their fathers are the cutest daughters ever (it will probably be intimidating for the men who marry said daughters in the future though ;))  Youzhny’s coach Boris Sobkin makes a surprise appearance at 0:26, wearing a bright green shirt under his white cover-up.

The ITF Olympics Tennis Book is a Hit

The ITF released its Olympics book, featuring tennis players holding photos of themselves as children.

DelPo’s crystal ball featuring a childish gambino is clearly the best photo of the bunch.  Clearly 🙂  I wonder if they sell the crystal ball DelPo’s carrying in his hands, because I have many questions I’d like to ask the fortune-telling crystal ball.  There are many more photos of the tennis players, including Ferru, Fed, Rafa, Kvitova and Kim Clijsters at the Fue Buena site.  Observe and enjoy!

It’s a great pic but I miss the wild hair. He looks like a kid whose mommy combed his hair for his Sunday school class photo.

Lolol, that image of him preparing extra-hard (by combing his hair) for a Sunday school class photo is hilarious 🙂 Incidentally, I was wondering what DelPo would look like if he still had the same hair he had when younger — the DelPo of now with a bowl haircut, wearing an ear-to-ear grin — except now his face is woolly!

ITF makes that mini Delpo even cuter. The raw one (which shows his epic hair) is hilariously cute. This one is sweetly adorable.
Pico likes showing off his body since he’s a kid. Lol. You can see he updates his FB with his half-naked pics so often. I’m always like *smh* What a Narcissist. Hahaha 😛

I like Tsonga! He’s such a happy man who appreciates his life so much!!! 🙂

I love that the ITF came up with the idea of DelPo holding a crystal ball! It def adds something to his mini-DelPo photo, which was sweet and hilarious on its own. Maybe they felt mini-DelPo’s hair was too outrageous for their book—therefore, they “cropped” his hair out by introducing the crystal ball. They’re smart, aren’t they? 😉

I was so-so on Pico’s photo too! The theme was tennis-players-and-themselves-as-children. Did he really need to go for the shirtless option! Tsk tsk 🙂 Mini-Tsonga was cute and Tsonga seems like a joyful competitor—he’s a bit like DelPo, in the sense that they seem like friendly players, but there’s def also a competitive edge underneath the smiles.
