There are many different ways to wear a grey cardigan. At the player’s party last week in Dubai, the cardigan was paired over a black tee with dark jeans.
One week later, the cardigan is in New York at a NY Knicks vs. Miami Heat basketball game, paired with a fluffy scarf over a red tee (same dark jeans). I’m not sure I like Vika’s saloon gloves, but I admit I’m curious how DelPo would’ve looked if he’d borrowed them:

You can watch the video at ESPN Deportes of DelPo and Vika hitting tennis balls into the crowd. I’m curious if fans at MSG knew who DelPo and Vika were!
DelPo cheered on the NY Knicks and met with Argie b-baller Pablo Prigioni after the game. He also had a fanboy moment with singer Phil Collins. DelPo looks happy, while Phil Collins looks a bit non-plussed. Hey Mr. Phil, take a page out of Maradona’s book and smile, why don’t you!:
Later that evening, DelPo refashioned his grey cardigan by pairing it with a crisp blue shirt for the cocktail party at Essex House. This was the best showing yet from the cardigan (paired with the same jeans):
Team Smoldering Hotness (DelPo and Serena) then stepped aside to take a separate photo, to let their proper hotness shine through without the distractions of Vika’s leopard print and Rafa’s corporate blazer:
Team Guapo came together for a photo as well. DelPo flew to NYC after his SF loss at Dubai. Rafa flew in from Acapulco, where he won his 2nd title of the year in a blowout win over Ferru.
Fun fact: When DelPo came back in 2011 after his wrist injury, his first top 5 victory was against no. 4-ranked Robin Soderling at the 2011 Miami Masters. Rafa’s first top 5 win after his comeback from knee injury came over no. 4-ranked Ferru. Is there some curse of the no. 4 ranked players against those coming back from injury?
My hope is that the exho organizers force DelPo and Rafa to wear on-court mics, and that both players are forced to talk to each other in English for the duration of the match. The Spanglish alone might be worth the price of admission. DelPo: “Hola, Rafa. I heard the good knee-ews from Acapulco. How are your sensations today?” Rafa: “Bueno, Juan. The Acapulco title conduces me to play better. Is like this, no?” DelPo: “Conduces? You mean it motivations you?” Rafa: “Silencio, Juan.” It would be one stilted, awkward conversation. I hope it happens.
The exhos will take place on March 4 at MSG. Serena-Vika will play at 7pm (local time) and the DelPo-Rafa match will follow afterwards.
